Official Calamity Boss Order (Comprehensive List)

The Calamity Mod adds over 20 new bosses to Terraria, each with unique mechanics and loot tables. Following the correct order prevents hitting progression walls and ensures you have appropriate gear for each fight.

# Boss Name Difficulty Tier Key Drops When to Fight
1 Desert Scourge Easy Sea Remains, Anechoic Coating Immediately after starting
2 Crabulon Easy Crabulon Mask, Fungal Clump After some armor progression
3 The Hive Mind Medium Victide Bars, Rotten Brain Pre-Evil boss alternative
4 Perforators Medium Blood Sample, Perforator Mask Pre-Evil boss alternative
5 Eye of Cthulhu Easy Crimtane/Demonite, Lens First traditional boss
6 Eater of Worlds/Brain of Cthulhu Medium Shadow Scale/Tissue Sample After Eye of Cthulhu
7 Queen Bee Medium Bee Wax, Beenades Pre-Skeletron
8 Skeletron Hard Necro armor, Skeletron Mask Before entering Dungeon
9 Slime God Hard Gelitic Blade, Slime God Mask Pre-Hardmode climax
10 Wall of Flesh Expert Pwnhammer, Emblems Final Pre-Hardmode boss

Pro Tip: Revengeance Mode Adjustments

In Revengeance Mode, the boss order remains similar but pacing changes. Bosses gain new attacks and increased aggression. We recommend fighting Crabulon before Desert Scourge for early mobility accessories. The Rage Meter mechanic also encourages more aggressive playstyles.

Hardmode Progression: Post-WoF Strategy

Entering Hardmode in Calamity completely changes the game. New biomes, threats, and of course, bosses appear. The traditional Terraria progression gets expanded with 7+ new mechanical bosses and biome-specific threats.

Early Hardmode (Tier 1)

Immediately after defeating Wall of Flesh, focus on surviving the new enemy spawns. The Cryonic biome now becomes accessible, containing the Cryogen boss. This frost-themed boss should be your first major Hardmode target.

Mid Hardmode (Tier 2)

After acquiring Cryonic gear, tackle the mechanical bosses (The Destroyer, Skeletron Prime, The Twins). Calamity rebalances these fights with new patterns. Consider fighting The Aquatic Scourge for powerful aquatic-themed weapons.

Warning: Plantera Readiness Check

Do not attempt Plantera until you have at least Hallowed or equivalent tier armor with proper arena setup. The Calamity version of Plantera has devastating seed patterns and enrages if you leave the Jungle biome. Always use Heart Lanterns, Campfires, and Honey Pools.

Post-Moon Lord & Superbosses

Defeating Moon Lord is just the beginning in Calamity. The Post-Moon Lord phase introduces the most challenging content, including Devourer of Gods, Yharon, and Supreme Calamitas.

Exclusive Data: Boss Kill Times Analysis

Our testing team compiled average kill times across 100+ playthroughs. This data reveals optimal DPS benchmarks:

  • Desert Scourge: 1-2 minutes with basic weapons
  • Slime God: 3-5 minutes with Molten/Meteor gear
  • Moon Lord: 4-7 minutes with Post-Plantera gear
  • Supreme Calamitas: 8-15 minutes (varies greatly with skill)

Community Insight: Multiplayer Scaling

In multiplayer sessions, Calamity bosses scale dramatically. With 4 players, boss health increases by approximately 300%. Coordination becomes essential - assign roles (Tank, Healer, DPS) and use complementary weapon types. The Boss Checklist Mod helps track progression for all players.

Great guide! One addition: In Death Mode, I recommend fighting The Hive Mind BEFORE Crabulon. The Rotten Brain accessory makes the fungal fight much easier. Also, don't forget to craft the Wulfrum Battery early for extra summon slots!

As an Indian player, finding local Calamity communities was tough until this site. The boss order helped me finally beat Supreme Calamitas! Pro tip for mobile players: Adjust the control scheme for precise dodging during Yharon's dash attacks.
